How can I relieve sunburn on my face and reduce its redness?

There are special Aloe Vera gels for sunburn. I believe I’ve seen them for faces, too. Any drug store or superstore should have them in the body/cosmetics area especially now that summer is so close!

Pure Aloe Vera gel. Works great and is soothing and cooling.

If it is a recent sunburn and you have a shower handy. Step into the shower set the water at a temp around your body temp, then turn the water gradually down to where you are running all cold water. Stand in the shower for about 10 to 15 minutes, Let the water run on your face and forehead from start to finish. This should give you the relief you are want and help it heal with out pealing

Back in the Stone Age, when I was a teen, I got a damn near TERMINAL sunburn after a day of fishing on the ocean. A neighbor gave Ma a tiny little jar of greasy yellow cream. The stuff worked like a charm. Took the heat right out. Ma had our doctor write us a scrip for the stuff. After all these years, I STILL remember the name. (testament to how bad the burn was…)

I would recommend cool compresses… so a nice cold cloth will help. Your skin is red because it is still giving off heat from the sunburn… so cool it down. I would also recommend some aloe vera gel… you can get this at the health food store.. and keep it in the fridge so that it is cooler for when you apply it to your face. If you haven’t got aloe vera gel, noxema works well for sunburn as well.
