I have pale skin, freckles, sensitive skin, and I easily get sunburn. I was outside with my sunglasses on, and a few hours later, my cheek and eyes started to swell up. My mom had shrimp earlier, and I am allergic. My family thought I had an allergic reaction, and they took me to the hospital. They didn’t do much, but I took Benadryl and I still am. My sister mentioned that it may be sunburn, and my eyes are dry, and red, and it feels like sunburn. How long do you think it will last if I’m taking Benadryl?

Benadryl doesn’t help with sunburns! Sunburns are a skin condition solved with patience, rest and aloe vera. Benadryl is for allergies; I would go back to the hospital or check with a doctor to see what this could be; I don’t think it’s sunburn.
Saturday i just got the WORST sunburn of my ENTIRE life,
It was the worst pain ive ever felt, i swear it was terrible.
then i had to go to prom right after i spent 4 hours in the sun in an open field at a concert with no shade.
NOTHING worked, It was soo bad i had uncontrolable shakes the WHOLE night, and i didnt sleep cause i couldnt lay on my arms.
luckly it was on my arms and legs, not my back.
my dad went to riteaid and talked to the pharmasist there,
he told him to get me to take 2 asprin every 2 hours til you take 8 a day (do not do this while on your period because you will bleed uncontrolably). Also, dont get the lydocaine spray or the blue stuff you put on it, that stuff is a complete waste of money. instead, get poison ivy spray, maximum strength. it has better numbing medicine in it, and its got ALOT.
its the only thing that helped me. the asprin thing really does work, i dont know how, but it does.
the only bad thing about the spray, is you need to do it outside, because it gets everywhere and will take the finish off of wood.
and its sticky when it dries, so you get fuzz all over you, but if you ask me, thats a hell of alot better than being burnt.
I dont know how bad your sunburn is, but if its bad do that.
and you can also put the spray on your face,
SPRAY IT ON YOUR HANDS, THEN APPLY TO YOUR FACE.
also buy body serum, and KEEP it on you alot.
if you cant find any of that,
buy the johnson and johnson 24 hour moisturizing lotion,
and keep it on your skin alot.
Ive done all of that, and the only really sore part is my shoulders. I have blisters, and if you have those put any antibiotic ointment on them.
hope i helped!
