Two old home remedies that remove the sting.

First one makes you smell like a Caesar salad for awhile but takes the sting out immediately is blotting your skin with white distilled vinegar. Afterwards be sure to keep your skin well moisturized.

The second is a little kinder and helps maintain the coloring. Run a bath (not too warm for obvious reasons if you are sore). Steep about 10 Chamomile tea bags in the water with bath oils and soak for a good 20 to 30 minutes.

From personal experience, I use Banana Boat after burn aloe lotion. It seems to work the best. Also if you have pain and you can take aspirin that helps alleviate the pain. If you just starting take a medicine of some sort you may have become sensitive to the sun. I was on birth control pills and even with sunscreen on I ended up with major sun burn.

Stay out of the sun for a few days. The red will turn into a bronze if you apply tons of moisturizer and don't get your skin to peel. The next time you go out use SUNSCREEN. For Sunburn use Bactine if it's really bad see your Dr. and get a prescription for silvadene cream.

Find a good after sun lotion that contains aloe that will keep your skin hydrated not oily but soft and supple. Good Luck

If its burnt the top skin will peel whatever moisturisers you use, but underneath there will be a tan. Best way to tan is to take it slowly, wear sun screens, gradually reducing the factor number as you brown. If your sunburn really hurts then try very cold greek yoghurt, its really soothing, but any remedy you try works better if its chilled first as that helps to reduce the burn. Just like running a burn under a cold tap! Some people think that sunscreens stop you from tanning, but thats not the case, it just slows it down, and a tan aquired more steadily will last longer.

burns usually turn into a tan--but try to keep really moisturized because your skin is dry and you want to extend the tan. aloe really works but try to use a lotion as well--that doesn't have mineral oil or petrolatum--just look at the ingredients when you're at the store.
